Kumar Goel
Kumar grew up in sunny Southern California in Cerritos, a suburb of Los Angeles. He was always good with numbers and this reflected in his personality and grades as a child. After getting accepted to UC Berkeley, Kumar moved up to the Bay Area to pursue a degree in Engineering. The four years he spent in the Bay Area, molded him into the person he is today. Kumar moved back to Los Angeles the following year to continue higher education at UCLA. He is now happily married with two sons.
After settling into his first job, Kumar’s father gave him some advice that would change his life forever. On his way home from work, he saw a banner posted outside an H&R Block office about tax school. He asked Kumar if he would take tax school to learn some tips and tricks for taxes. Kumar happily accepted and has never looked back since. Kumar completed tax school under the supervision of a great instructor. He strived and inspired him to perform his best. Kumar graduated the top student in his class and in the top 0.01% of all tax students that year in tax school. Upon completion of tax school, he was quickly hired by H&R Block as a tax preparer. The following year he joined Jackson-Hewitt to understand how their operations worked also. Kumar is grateful for his experiences at two different tax companies and they have provided him a broad knowledge of how to run an efficient tax business. Kumar has been self-employed since his third year and has increased his clientele base to over 400 clients. Kumar has been experiencing a steady growth in his tax business since its inception back in 2003.
Kumar has been adding licenses to his repertoire and is now a Realtorâ„¢ and a Mortgage Loan Officer.

About Our Name
The name “Five Rivers” pays homage to people of Punjab, a state in the northern part of India. Punjab literally translates to “The Land of Five Rivers” referring to the major five rivers that once existed in the state: the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and Beas. Kumar is of Punjabi descent and thus the name is to pay homage to his heritage.
